What are pot odds? Why do anything? If you ask yourself
whether what you're most likely not a winner in Texas
Hold'em. Even the wildest and most aggressive players
have a very good understanding of pot odds, and you
should have.
Pot odds is what determines whether you need to play a
particular hand. In a horserace, there are various odds
on the horses. A horse may have odds of 4-1, while
another has odds of 10-1. If you think that horse with
odds of 10-1 would not win one in a hundred races, so
these odds are not very good. However, if you think that
horse with odds of 4-1, will win every other race, so it
would be a really good game. If you are right, then you
lose a dollar in the first race and win four dollars in
the second, and therefore have a net profit of 3
dollars.
Pot odds are similar. The amount you can win, compared
to the amount you have to throw in the pot to win, your
pot odds. If you pay $ 15 to win a pot of $ 45, so we
are told that pot gives you odds of 3-1. One can also
say that if you win it once every three times you lose
